01 / The policy
Who we are
Digitally Minded is a PPC and digital marketing consultancy operated by Raymond Smit, serving clients in South Africa and the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what your rights are.
If you have any question about this policy or your data, email hello@digitallyminded.co.
What we collect, and why
Forms. When you submit a form on this site - an enquiry, a call booking, or a newsletter signup - we collect what you type: typically your name, work email, and the answers you choose about your goals and timeline. We also record how you first arrived at the site (for example the ad or search campaign you clicked, and the page you landed on) so we know which of our marketing brought you here. We use all of this to reply to you, prepare for a call, or send you the newsletter you asked for. Nothing else.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address and use it to send roughly one email a month. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing works immediately.
Analytics. We use OpenPanel, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics service hosted in the EU, to understand aggregate site usage - which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from. Visitors are counted anonymously, without cookies or fingerprinting, and this data cannot identify you. We deliberately do not use Google Analytics.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site. We do not add you to the newsletter unless you asked for it.
Where your data is processed
This site is hosted by Netlify, which processes standard server logs on our behalf. Form submissions are processed and delivered to us by Formspark. Anonymous analytics are processed by OpenPanel on EU infrastructure. Call scheduling, when you book one, is handled by our scheduling provider. These providers store data on infrastructure that may be located outside South Africa or the United Kingdom, protected by their own security and data-processing agreements.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and booking details are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any work that follows from it. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete anything sooner - see your rights below.
Your rights
Under South Africa's POPIA and the UK GDPR, you can ask us: what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Email hello@digitallyminded.co and we'll action it within a reasonable time - usually within a few business days, not the legal maximum.
If you believe we have mishandled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) or the ICO (United Kingdom).
Links to other sites
Blog posts and resources link to external sites - Google documentation, industry research, tools. Their privacy practices are their own; this policy covers only digitallyminded.co.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this site handles personal information - for example, when we add new tools - we will update this page and the date below. Significant changes will be flagged to newsletter subscribers.
